Random updates

Quick photos update, since a picture says a thousand words, doesn't it? ;)

There were 7 of us so we covered quite a number of the breakfast items. Didn't manage to take photos of what everyone had. My friends loved the food. But I was disappointed with the french toast & pancakes.

Still, good food & even better company. It was a perfect Saturday afternoon. <3

Outfit for TC's farewell party: H&M peplum top, LB shorts, Zara heels & Clutch from Hong Kong.

Lunch with Peiying before heading down to the suppliers. I had Chicken Poulet, which is basically grilled chicken stuffed with mushrooms topped with garlic cream. I actually attempted a similar dish for Valentine's and failed horribly. Haha.

Surprisingly, we were the earliest for the photoshoot! Started camwhoring while waiting for Peiying and Dian Fang to arrive. I really love the eye make up I did for us! I am getting better at this. Hehee. Hmm, we actually look like sisters in the photos! But I don't think we look that similar in real life. Other than the fact that we both have HUGE eyes.

It's so weird! I think I am pretty good at camwhoring but photoshoot was another genre all together. Keeping my fingers crossed. Hope the photos turned out okay. Can't wait to see them! Anw, love you baby girl! More of these on our Bangkok trip in Oct! :D:D:D xoxo

Absolutely in love with our romper prints! Comes in super cute anchor prints & this cheerful bright feathery floral print. Features a super sexy back. Tube included if you don't want to bare that much. ;) I can't decide which to keep!

From top (left): Coffee before our photoshoot at a cafe on Ann Siang Hill. Moist & yummy Red Velvet Cupcake! Love the frosting! Mango Chiller & upcoming mustache watch. Upcoming feather skull necklace. Love it!!! Kept one in blue for myself.

Will be off to Bangkok next weekend with Mark & Mel. Can't wait to shop a bit, massage a bit, chill by the pool a bit and party a bit. Sounds like an awesome trip already! Prolly too short but will make the most of it!

And I got my hands on more self-manufactured stuff. So excited to wear them out! Photos another time! Check back soon! x

OB.SES.SION(S)

TGIF!!!

I realized that I have been obsessed over a couple of stuff recently.

1. English TV Dramas
Not Korean, not Hong Kong, not Japanese, not Taiwan dramas. Yes, I am eat potato one. Haha. I am so crazy over them. I can just sit on my sofa and watch episodes after episodes. But a lot of the dramas are on their season break till October! Why they keep us in suspense for months? ): Lucky I just found Pretty Little Liars and I have 3 seasons to catch up on! Should keep me occupied for a while :D:D:D

Anw here are all the dramas I have watched / am watching. I especially adore CW Network dramas though I gave Secret Circle like10 episodes and I still hate it! Maybe will give it another chance when I have nothing to watch.
  • Gossipgirl
  • 90210
  • The Vampire Diaries
  • Hart of Dixie
  • Pretty Little Liars
  • Dallas
  • One tree hill
  • Ringer

2. Ice cream
HAPPY FOOD!! BB and I went to the supermarket and bought 4 different types of ice cream.. 'Nuff said. I am really craving Mint Chocolate Chunk from Ben&Jerrys but they don't sell it at the supermarkets ): Anw Hagen Daz Cappuccino Truffle is DA BOMBZ. & this is coming from a coffee ice cream hater. Haha, go try!

3. Shopping
Okay. Lumped it all into one heading but I have to say but it's really not that general. I am crazy over shopping at H&M and Zara. And I am crazy over accessories at the moment. And shoes. And bags. And makeup! It's like I can never have enough. The wants never stop!

I AM COVETING THESE! WILL SOMEONE BUY THEM FOR ME PLEASE!!!

Shoes, shoes & more shoes!

Bags, bags & more bags!

Clothes, clothes & more clothes!
  • Psst!  Coming up in 2 collections, we have a super cute romper with a perfect cutting you'd love! Just sent a peplum skirt with a twist to production. We also have a similar blazer (without the embellishments) coming up EOY. Super luxe material and perfect waisted cut.  Up & coming are indonesian influences like paisley prints! Be the first to hop onto the upcoming trend with RVR's Paisley shorts still available here!

Korean BBQ @ TST (the best!)

Had more girlfriend time last week when Char was in town ♥

We decided to head for some Korean BBQ. If you're in Hong Kong and you're craving for some good Korean BBQ, this is definitely the place to go! The restaurant is managed by Koreans, there's lots of Korean customers patronizing the place and I've been here with my Korean friends a couple of times. Authentic enough? :D

I made reservations beforehand as the place can get pretty packed. For the night, we decided on the set meal for two. This came with loads of appetizers, beef, chicken and cuttlefish, toufu soup and two bowls of rice.

The beef & chicken was very well-marinated. The korean auntie there was helping us cook our meat. She kept shaking her head at us cos we were too busy eating and catching up and left the meat to burn on the grill. Oops! Surprisingly, she was pretty friendly and chatty that day even though they were pretty busy that Wednesday night.

As there was three of us, we added on another spicy toufu soup and a kimichi pancake.

The food was pretty delish! Though too much  food for us small eaters! Had leftovers ):

Ended off the meal with some oranges. Super yummy! I don't know why but the oranges in Hong Kong always seem to taste sweeter. We spent about S$20 per person, which is about the same as what you'd spend in Singapore. However, the portions in Hong Kong were much more generous in comparison, making it more worth the money!

Anw, the food pictures are making me hungry! Probably drag Rugrats there next week for dinner. Somehow I always think Korean BBQ is healthy! So I don't feel guilty pigging out on it. Heh. Happy weekend!

We like to EAT all day, and PARTY all night!

Sunday night. Blasting upbeat music, hoping to get myself pumped up for the new week. I am a Monday hater. I am constantly counting down to the weekends. And the cycle goes on and on.

Suyee was in town last week. Met up with her to have Dim Sum lunch at Jasmine Garden.

I love drinking all types of chinese tea. The cute little cups they served it in made us feel like we were having high tea.

We ordered so much food for two, it was insane! There was egg tarts, cheong fan, suckling pig, dan-dan noodles, XO carrot cake, salt & pepper toufu, custard egg buns and not to forget the usual har gao and siew mai. I think you'll be full just looking at the photos. Haha.

While tables around us had a constant turnover, we sat there for almost 2 hours just eating and catching up. And of cos, we were completely stuffed after the meal. I love girlfriend time :)

Met Suyee and her friends for dinner after work the next day. We headed to Yung Kee at Central. Yung Kee is a 1 star Michelin Restaurant famous for their Roast Goose. I have been there a few times and their cooked food is pretty delicious too. But be warned! The good food comes at a price.

We started off with a plate of century egg with ginger. I love this! It is a must order for me everytime I am here. If you love it, they do sell century eggs in boxes of 6. I've bought it back to Singapore a couple of times cos my daddy loves them too! :D:D:D

We ordered a couple of dishes to share among the 6 of us :) I enjoyed the scrambled eggs with prawns, fish maw & chicken thick soup, braised toufu and fried rice. We wanted to order a roast pigeon but it was sold out. The lady kept pushing us to take a braised pigeon in claypot and we did. I thought it was alright and it was pretty big for a pigeon. I hated the presentation tho, that poor little bird.

And for the highlight of the night! Roast goose! I love roast goose and I think it tastes better than ducks cos it's so oily and fatty. And all unhealthy food just tastes so good doesn't it? Anw, it was a small portion cos we got a double meat platter. There was soya chicken too, which was just okay.

My sis posted her OTD on Instragram! <3

Does she look familar? She's one of the models of Redvelvetrose! I loved the way she paired our white textured ribbon skirt! I am so gonna wear this outfit the next time I'm back home. Check out all 3 colours if here if you haven't already done so!

I actually just came back from Singapore. Had a tiring but so damn awesome weekend. Mainly cos of this:

Haha, the guys just took my camera and took so many rubbish photos! Half of them were blur or stuff like this? :|

A big THANK YOU to everyone who made my weekend an absolute blast!
  • Peiying for taking half day leave to check our samples together and helping me buy Mocha Frap even tho I was late. Oops! Min & Reenie for being super supportive and loving most of our samples. Haha. The upcoming stuff are mad awesome! Great feedback from everyone who saw them and I am keeping every single piece. Time to clear my wardrobe!
  • Mark, Melvin, Jervois, Melanie for the fun night at Winebar and Zouk. D for dropping by and I got to catch up with Lum for a bit before he heads back to NY.
  • My darling sis, awesome partner Peiying, mad awesome photographer DF for enduring a long tiring Saturday of shoots before rushing off to do your own stuff. Jing for her lovely home-made Japanese cheesecake and for being there at our morning shoot.
  • Bestie (Hello, you said you read my blog) and foodie for a quick catch up over beer, peking duck pizza and fried chicken wings at Timbre @ Arts House. Just like old times :)
  • BFF Magesh for a nice chill out at Rasptuin @ Clarke Quay. I tried his creation, Rainbow. Colourful shots of 40% alcohol content each. Super nice! Order it if you drop by Rasputin. It's just beside Arena.
  • My daddy, mummy and sis for going for curry rice lunch with me! Bro MIA. :( and Daddy again for driving at top speed just to get me to the airport in time. Almost couldn't check in!
It's amazing how many people I hanged out with in 3 days! Wish I could meet more.

Off to end my weekend with some episodes of Pretty Little Liars. I will be back to blog about the Korean BBQ I had with another bunch of friends that came to Hong Kong last week too! Had so much sinful good food last week, it's a crime that I have been too lazy to hit the gym. Please don't let my tummy show. Have a good week ahead! xx

Pumped Up Kicks!

Hello all you beautiful people! HAPPY MONDAY! ♥

Finally caught the Dark Knight Rises on Saturday at IMAX. I thought it was MAD AWESOME. I love x100 the ending. I was tearing like mad at the end, trying to hold it all in. Told my sis and she was like "You teared? I was crying!" We both thought Batman was gonna die. Haha. Anw, go watch it if you haven't! Better than spiderman!

It was a beautiful sunday afternoon. Perfect weather for the Arsenal vs Kitchee friendly match at Hong Kong Stadium. I thought some goals were pretty awesome. But since I am not a huge soccer fan, the best part of matches for me is always the food and beer! Also, I just love to soak in the lively atmosphere. Fans cheering. It's like for a moment, the whole world's having a good time.

Final score was a draw of 2-2. Good game! And a gorgeous sunset to end the event :)

Popped by H&M after dinner at Central. And I just don't get it! How can I walk into H&M everyday and still walk out with a shopping bag in hand each time? But the good thing's that I got a month to return the stuff, so I can slowly think about them and not purchase on impulse. Eh, kinda? If I return, it's not counted as buying right? Haha. Here's what I got!

Velvet Bomber jacket in Maroon & Tan (cannot decide which color!), Hot Pink Balloon Sleeves Blouse, Black Tailored Shorts, Leopard panel Bandage Dress & Neon Beaded Chain Necklace!

Would have gotten more but the shop closed before I could try on more things. I am still thinking about them! Save me! I totally need to go on a H&M rehabilitation! :|

Going back to Singapore this weekend again! Will be checking out samples and doing some photoshoots. We got a new photographer, can't wait to work with him. Also, I cannot wait to make more samples. It's like ideas are constantly popping into my head and I get inspired by so many things around me. And hopefully we can do a collaboration with one of my favourite blogshops.  Fingers crossed x

It's a windy daaayyyyyy!

Happy Wednesday everyone! Just wanted to say a quick hello! I was back in Singapore last weekend celebrating the wedding of my beautiful cousin. Will blog more on that when my sis sends the photos over! I LOVE WEDDINGS! <3

Anw, I experienced my first typhoon on Monday night. Somehow, I was never around for the past few that hit Hong Kong. Amazingly, my plane managed to land in Typhoon No. 8 conditions instead of being diverted to other airports. However, cabs were scarce so I decided to take the MTR and walk home. I didn't know how dangerous it was until I saw some police men clearing huge fallen trees off the road. I even had to crawl under fallen trees on my way back. While walking through the mini-park in front of my house, I was praying that none of the trees would fall on me. Cos if I was trapped, I'd be so dead. When I got back home, Rugrats told me that the wind was so strong, the buildings were shaking like there was an earthquake. It was then I realized that I could have been blown away in the snap of a finger.

Headed to work at noon (yays! got to sleep in!) the next day when the typhoon signal was lowered to a 3. It was a mess outside. My building's main glass door was smashed and there were so many fallen trees and plants scattered all around. It looked like a disaster zone but everyone was just getting on with their life as if nothing ever happened. Haha. For me, it was definitely an interesting experience & I hope this is the closest to a natural disaster that I'd ever get!

Decided to make soup noodles for dinner yesterday. Just a simple light meal for Rugrats & I. I like fuss-free cooking cos I am usually tired after work. But during the weekend, I don't mind spending hours cooking a meal. I just hate washing up! Haha. Anw, will share this quick, lazy person's cheat sheet with you :)

MEE SUA SOUP NOODLES
*Serves 2 (small portions)
Ingredients
2 stalks of bak choy
6 meat balls
4 teochew fish balls
6 slices of beef
1 bunch of mee sua
500ml of chicken stock

Seasoning
250ml of water
2 teaspoon of chinese wine
1 teaspoon of fish oil
1 teaspoon of pepper
1 handful of wolf berries

Method
1. Pour the chicken stock into a pot. Add the seasoning and bring to boil.
Note: The longer you boil, the more flavorful it gets. I left it boiling for 15-20 mins.
2. Add in the meat balls and fish balls into the stock and boil for another 5-10 mins.
3. Blanch the beef slices in the soup until it is no longer red. Put it into the serving bowl.
4. Add the bak choy into the pot and boil for another 2 mins.
5. Remove all the ingredients in the pot and place it in the serving bowl.
6. Add in the mee sua into the soup and cook for 2 mins.
7. When cooked, move the noodles into the serving bowl.
8. Pour the soup into the serving bowl. Garnish and enjoy!

Hope this recipe helps those of you who wants home-cooked food without the hassle. Speak to you soon! xxx

Hollister + Another July baby

And so, I have been in Hong Kong for close to 2½ years (with a 5 months break in between when I moved back to Singapore) and there are still many places that I haven't stepped foot into. One such place was Kowloon Tong. So when Rugrats mentioned that the first Hollister outlet opened at the shopping centre there, we decided to drag our lazy asses down to Festival Walk check out what the hype was. It isn't that far from my place, really. Just a 10 minutes mini-bus ride to Mongkok east  then 1 station to Kowloon Tong. But like I said, I was feeling lazyyy...

Since we hadn't had a proper meal for the day, we headed to EXP to have an early dinner. The place served mainly noodles and pizzas and is located beside the ice skating rink in the mall. We got a table just beside the rink. It was crazy packed! We got to see people spinning (and falling down, haha) while waiting for our mains.

Pretty decent food. I will come back to try the grapefruit prawns soba next time! It was sold out ):

And now for the first look at Hollister, which is the sister brand of A&F. From the outside, the place looked like a club. Dark decorations, long queue and blasting pop music. The inside was dimly lit and I found it hard to shop properly. They had super yummy sweet smelling body lotions and sprays that I was so tempted to get!

Rugrats was on a shopping spree and me being the dutiful girlfriend queued for the cashier for 30 mins and chilled at the comfy sofas (camwhoring!) while waiting for him to comb the shop again, just in case he missed out that Size 31 berms. Haha.

Dropped by Accessorize after, but I couldn't decide which box clutch to get to match my brown maxi for my cousin's wedding. :$

Went for shisha and drinks at the outdoor bar at Mira Hotel after. Shisha was good, nice and smooth. But service was slow and their cocktails were not to my liking. Will stick with classic beer the next time! Great place to chill, though weather was a killer so will probably be back to this alfreso bar in winter.

Celebrated another July baby's birthday. Happy birthday TC! :D:D:D

Didn't bring a camera hence the low quality photo. Anw, we ordered an apple crumble pie from the place. It was really good, buttery flaky crust. Try it!

One thing to note: There is a min charge of HK$200 per head, excluding shisha.

I am into folded jeans and cropped tops recently. Got this cheery top when I was at the supplier's. Wore it with haviannas (so singaporean right!) to BCP and shopping earlier in the day. Glamm-ed it up for the night gather with a pair of "bondage heels" as my friends called it and a studed clutch. I love how different accessories can bring a look from day to night! :D

Top :: Off my supplier's racks!
Bottom :: Topshop
Accessories :: Tiffany & Co Charm Bracelet (love from ex-colleagues <3)

Rugrats is watching Casa de mi Padre, some Will Ferrell show in Spanish while I am blogging away. I hate retarded movies like this. And he's laughing a lot. Honestly, he reminds me of my dad sometimes. Haha. Maybe girls do fall for guys that are a reflection of their dads. Hmmm, food for thought. Have a good week ahead! xxx
